Drive/Event not recognized in X. Okay, that was a little scary!

Have you ever had FCPX not recognize an event that is clearly on the hard drive when starting up X? I had to re-mount the drive and restart FCPX a couple times (not sure which one was necessary) before X seen my drive and event. The drive was visible in Finder the whole time.

This can happen if you have duplicate events and/or projects mounted on more than one drive.

I've heard of this happening before. Are you on version 10.0.3? If so, move the CurrentVersion.fcpevent file to a different location, launch FCP X. This forces it to look for the backup database. If that one doesn't load, oops...

Hey Tom
Well actually what happen was I had disconnected my drive from the iMac and connected it up to my Mac Pro where I do also have a duplicate drive (full backup). I mistakenly mounted both drives with FCPX running. I knew that was a mistake, didn't mean to have FCPX running, I was simply connecting both drives to do another backup of changed files.
So anyway, after I connected my drive back up to my iMac that's when it didn't recognize the drive until I unmounted and mounted it a couple times and restarted FCPX. All seems to be good now though thank goodness.

Thanks Ben, I'll remember that if I have any more problems.
