All,
Came across this post on the Apple Discussion boards
This is a problem I've been having since I upgraded to Lion, and I've posted this response in other forums, but wanted to start a fresh one with a video I created of my findings. In a nutshell: FCPX in Lion cannot handle AAC audio in H.264 files since it will create audible clicks and pops when it subsequently renders the footage. This ***** because the iPhone 4 for example records as H.264 and AAC for the audio.

I am not having this problem with Lion at all. May be the hardware it's being run on.

are you sure? What I've found initially through Logic and Lion is that my processor maxes out causing audio pops and clipping....but by accident I discovered that it's caused by airport/wifi.
If I turn off wifi..everythings ok, CPU usage drops and audio is fine. This was an issue at the start of Logic 8 and was fixed. Is it possible as a culprit here?
Bests,
Pete
EDIT just checked the original post....mine's probably irrelevant
