I am doing a Long movie so i have chopped up the workflow into deferent projects. Now I would like to combine these projects into one master project with all my edits intact (no rendering). Is this possible? and if so how?

Im sorry if this is a dumb question. To me, its everything right now.

You could have created different events, or even compound clips for each project at the outset, but since you now have multiple projects, you can get them into one timeline by doing the following:
Create a master project that will contain the sequence of all your projects.
Go back to the project library and open project 1.
In the timeline, select the entire group of clips for that project and copy them.
Close that project 1.
In the project library, select and open your master project.
Paste the copied clips from project 1 into the timeline of the master project.
Close the master project and open your project 2.
Repeat copying the clips from each project and paste them into the master project. They will paste at the playhead location.
The end result should be a master project that contains all of your individual project clips in sequence, or in whatever order you paste them.

Your edits should remain exactly as you have them in your original project. You will probably have to re-render some or all of the clip effects, transitions, etc. since those clips will now be part of a new project. You are not copying and pasting the projects, you are copying and pasting the clips within a project. I believe the render files follow the project they are rendered in.

Creating history....one edit at a time !

My "Media Management In FCP X" video course at macProVideo.com covers all of these issues, teaches you the way's FCP X gives us to manage assets and workflows, so you can customize your own. I've gotten good feedback from it. Updated for 10.0.3, too.
