Especially, Ronny Courtens supplied link which indicates there is a slight reduction in image quality if exporting is done with playback set to "Best Performance".

Larry Jordan's article, and the ensuing discussion of it, all show that the playback settings of "Higher Quality" and "Better Performance" have zero effect on the quality of the exported media.

Only the playback setting of "Proxy" and "Original Or Optimized" effect the quality of the exported media.

Exactly what the user manual states.
