I'm finding the keyword tagging very efficient at the minute as I click through clips in the Event browser. I know that you can arrow up and down to select clips in the list view but can you key command through the clips in Filmstrip view. I just want to be a bit more efficient just using keyboard shortcuts rather than having to manually click clips to select the next one in Filmstrip view.

The Up/Down arrow keys work for navigating from clip to clip in the filmstrip view of the Browser.

Is there a way to navigate within the clip. I've notice that up and down arrows obviously take you to the next or previous clip in the browser.

But what if you want to jump back to the start of the clip? Is the only way to do this using Go To Selection Start - SHIFT I?

Does the Home button work in individual clips like it does in the timeline?

No sadly it doesn't. Just takes you to the first clip in the browser.

If the clip is selected just pressing the (I) key should take you to the start then assuming that there isn't any predifined ins & outs via the F (fav key)
Can't test at the minute not on my FCPX machine

If the clip is selected, pressing the "I" key simply sets the in point for the range selection (same for hitting the "O" key- it'll set the out point for your range selection).

Hitting Shift + I is what will take you to the start of the range (or the start of the clip assuming you've hit "X" to select the entire clip.)

You could also use semicolon ( ; ) to go to beginning of a clip and apostrophe ( ' ) to the end.

Thanks! That is exactly what I was after didn't think of those keys as in the past I always had them mapped to link and stereo pair in FCP 7

Cheers
