Archiving On A Drobo FS

Hello everyone. I am currently at the beginning of switching over 3 seats of our editing suite to FCP X. I recently experimented with moving around projects, events, and media without using the "Move" function within X. There were some problems and one project seemed to become corrupted. Okay simple solution; use the move function. But my problem is that at our facility we archive on a Drobo FS, which mounts as a shared server location. When I open the "Move" menue in X, the Drobo does not appear as an option. I am afraid to drag and drop transfer (as we did with legacy) because of the problem I experienced with my experiment.

I would love to hear back from somebody who has integrated a Drobo FS into their FCP X system.

Can't help with the Drobo question, but I can tell you I have successfully moved projects and events thru the finder with no problems. Now I just use Event Manager X to simplify that, but as long as you are moving the entire Final Cut Projects folder and Final Cut Events folder, there shouldn't be any issues. They are only accessible when placed in the correct folder names (above) at the root level of a disk volume, so if you moved them into some subfolders, FCPX wouldn't recognize them.

Creating history....one edit at a time !
