FCPX & Input devices was created by Scrubelicious
Hey hey, not much has been mentioned here about Final Cut Pro X and input devices.
What I can say and proof is that the [strike]Euphonix[/strike] [strike]MC Transport[/strike] Avid Artist Transport works fine with FCPX!
I haven't had chance to test the other devices from the Artist Line but I can imagine they also work!

But the slider faders aren't going to be of much use though?

Good point. I or we don't have the Artist Mix but I wondering if you can change the command for the slider like the jog wheel on the Artist Transport?

I have Mix, Color, Transport. Only Transport works, and it's limited. I'm hoping Avid updates Color and Mix to work, also. I've dropped them an email asking about their future plans, but no reply. Avid isn't the best at responding to customers.

How is Transport Limited? Works fine here.
I hope Apple will ad a function to swap between the color board and the color wheel because of the Color device.

Preview Previous and Preview Next buttons do two things at once.
Timeline: Jump to previous/next clip AND open/close Inspector AND give error beep.
Event Browser: Highlight previous/next clip for renaming, open/close Inspector.
Insert button doesn't work at all.
Needs reprogramming (not too difficult), but it is functional. I guess "limited" wasn't the right word. Yes, it's functional, but will take some reprogramming of keyboard shortcuts.
The MC Mix never worked in legacy versions of FCP anyway, nor did Color. I don't see either one working in FCP X, as there's no corresponding controls. So I guess that's a mute point.

Yeah, I've actually reprogrammed mine, and redone it for FCP X, the new edit types, new workflow. I'll post it, also. We can compare notes, see about doing some really great FCP X specific config file for the Transport.

My boss is looking to pick up the Colour, Mix, and Transport and tasked me with researching if they'll work with FCP X and Logic X.
Sounds like they do, but it can take some tweaking, but would love your guys experiences.

The Color doesn't work with FCPX or Logic, but it will work with Resolve, if you guys use that at all.
The Mix only works with Logic, and NOT with Yosemite.
The Transport only works with FCPX, no clue if it died with Yosemite either, I never use it anymore.
I use the Mix with Logic a lot, but haven't touched the Transport in over a year. I use the keyboard so much, it is just a distraction for me now.
I actually have my Color and Transport up for sale now.
Not to mention Avid is flaky and will sell them off at any moment to another vendor. I had major nightmares when Avid updated the firmware, and that update rendered my units useless. I had to figure out the fix myself, as Avid's tech support was a waste of time. I spoke to an Avid rep at NAB two years ago, he gave me a number and info to call to get things fixed up. After three months of back and forth, Avid was worthless to me.
And I highly doubt there will ever be driver updates from Avid for Yosemite.
Personally, I'd find something made by a more stable company. Cause if Avid sells these off, the guts change (like when Avid bought out Euphonix), then the firmware changes, then you're screwed.
