I Miss the Reveal Affiliated Clips Command Introduced in FCP 7

I don't suppose FCPX has the "Reveal Affiliated Clip" command as it's known in FCP 7 does it? I miss that command as I would use it when color correcting multicam clips. I could simply click on the shortcut button I had assigned to that command and it would select every instance in the sequence of the specific camera angle the playhead was setting on, and I could then just paste my Color Correction attributes to all occurrences of that the affiliated clip.

Perhaps we'll see it in the next update of FCPX?

Not necessary in FCP now. You color correct in the angle editor and all instances of the clip are color corrected. You can tweak each shot individually in the timeline.

Oh get out of town! Are you kidding me? Okay, well that just makes it too easy then. I want my money back, FCPX is too easy to use, and being the professional that I am, that's just unconscionable :cheer:

Thanks for that tip. Now that you mentioned it, I do think I remember hearing or reading that (in one of the 99 different training courses I'm taking!) but I suppose I overlooked it as being a terribly useful, thinking that I didn't want to render the whole angle, just the instances where I use portions of the angle in the sequence. But, if it only renders the instances that you use (which makes sense) then it is a huge HUGE time savor. Did I mention HUGE?

Added: Yep, Michael Wohl certainly talks about that in section 6 of his Multicam Editing training. I just didn't put 2 and 2 together for myself to realize that the rendering is not taking place in the Angle Editor, but the project which the multi clip is being used.

Not to mention it's too fast, and there goes your billable hours down the drain.

Billable hours? I'm a wedding videographer, I only wish I got paid by the hour. If I got paid by the hour, I could actually make a living at doing this, but then I would have to pay taxes!

When you're charging $12K per wedding you don't need to track hours ;-)

Haha, yeah don't I wish! I live in Kentucky where they can marry kin-folk as long as they haven't lived with them within the past 6 months! I'm lucky to get any weddings at all, much less ones that I can actually charge what I'm worth! But... I am grateful for the ones I do get, don't get me wrong. I've lived in far worst places. I won't mention any names but it's that state that sets just above of Texas.
