To create the dissolve transition between two audio clips requires that these two clips to be put into a storyline, however this option is grayed out in my 10.0.3 version.
Is there a new method to add audio transitions in 10.0.3?

Are you doing the Peachpit FCPX book tutorial by any chance?

Select the clips and press Cmd-T and see what happens?

Yes I am doing that training at this moment.
When you do Command T, it does add transitions but then individually at the end of both clips. The transition need to be between both clips.

There's a problem with the project. Select the second piece of audio and move it down the timeline so they're separate. Select the two items and use Cmd-G to make the storyline. Select the gap clip in the middle and delete it. use Cmd-T to make the audio cross fade.

Be sure you have the Edit Point selected, not the actual clips themselves, too.

Tom Wolsky, you are a genius!! IT WORKED! Thank you so much...
For future reference, is there an explanation for what caused this?

Thanks for the reminder BenB!

The causes seems to be when audio clips are in some kind of subframe alignment, like they're slightly overlapping in a video frame, which is possible with audio, and a major pain in some instances. Audio can be moved in subframe amounts, though you can only edit into the timeline in whole frame increments. If you use the edit tools to edit and nudge and position clips rather than drag and drop this is less like to happen.
