Hi

I've just installed OSX Lion on my Mac Pro and the colours displayed in FCP X are now really wrong.

They look supersaturated and with extreme contrasts. It is not a pretty sight :(

My graphics card is ATI Radeon HD 4870 512 MB.

The actual media looks fine. All other video on the Mac looks just fine. It seems that this problem is with the viewer in FCP X.

If I go to the Colour Board for a given clip all settings are at defualt "flat", so no change has happened there.

The thumbnails for each clip in the event browser remain looking okay until I click on the filmstrip to show that clip in the viewer, then the thumbnail adopts the wrong colours of the viewer. So, it would seem the cached "pre Lion update" thumbnails get over-written by new wrong ones.

I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Patrick

Hi,

just curious have you calibrated your monitor by yourself? If you have try switching it back to original Cinema Display profile (or whatever you had before calibrating). I read somewhere Final Cut Pro X mishandles some versions of ICC-profiles made with some calibration tools. Maybe the problem is more obvious with Lion? Just guessing...

Thank you tap5a.

I suspect your suggestion is in the right area. It is what I sort of thought of as well.

In fact the "solution" for me has been to return to 10.6.8. I decided that rather than sit trying to sort this one out it would be better to wait until some others with the same setup run into the same problem.

For the record, I'm using and Eizo CG243W monitor and I use its own supplied software for calibration.

I think this is a popular monitor with video editors so, if the problem relates to calibration, others will no doubt experience it fairly soon.
