Is it possible to monitor surround sound in FCP X?

I can't find any obvious options at least on my copy on my Mac OS 10.6 machine (haven't checked if there are any in Lion)

What 5.1 output device are you using?

I've got a Presonus Firebox (haven't tried with it yet) that has 6 outputs, as well as my iMac's optical audio out (which I have tried)

You need a dedicated 5.1 output device.

Do you know of a specific device? The thing that also confuses me is how unlike FCP 7 there isn't any (from what I can find) way to select the audio device/channels.

I believe the selection is all through the Mac OS Sound system Prefs. I'm curious to know what it's like when you get it working. Not that I'm mixing much in surround, but I do think it's cool.
