Consolidate ? was created by toxotis70
I am using Avid for several years and now i am trying FCPX....
I need to consolidate a project , and when i am doing that in Avid, it uses only the parts of clips i used in my timeline.
But FCPX , copy the whole clips , not only the parts i used in my timeline...
Is there any other way to do that ?

R-click your project in the Project Library and choose "Duplicate project" (or just select the project and press CMD+D). The Duplicate Project window will open.
In the Duplicate Project window you have different options:
Duplicate project only
This option will only copy the project but not the media that appears within the project. If you plan on keeping the media online and simply want to save the project file as a backup, this is what you select.
Duplicate Project and Referenced Events
When selecting this option you will be copying your project file plus each of the events that contains media used in your project. All your media will be copied over, even if you have only used parts of the media.
Duplicate project + Used Clips only
This is what you are looking for. This option will save your project and only the clips that were used in it. Because it is selectively copying clips out of an Event, it will want you to create a brand new Event, which you will have to give a name.
Just a word of caution: this option does not allow you to include handles for the used media, like you can do when consolidating projects in Avid or legacy FCP. Many of us have sent a request to include this in a future update.

i shaw that option in Duplicate, but its not the same as avid.
I dont want the whole clips i used... only the part of them used in my timeline.
For example, if i have a 10 minutes clip and i only used only 30 sec from it, i want only that part (30 sec + handles) ... i think you cant do this in FCPX as in Avid.... am i right ?

There is no Media Manager or consolidate function in FCP.
