Hi all, I've had FCPX since day one and downloaded the additional content but it gave me two sound effect folders. I have...

Final Cut Pro Sound Effects - working folder
Final Cut Pro Sound Effects - greyed out folder
(see attached screenshot)

Does anyone know where the greyed out folder points to? I'm thinking if I move the sound effects to the place the greyed out folder points to then it will display correctly?

I should that I know this doesn't effect anything in the grand scheme of things. Just with all the other niggles of FCPX getting fixed this bugs me whenever I go to add music :)

It seems many have this issue and I couldn't find a solution myself.

It's crazy, right? I'm on Lion 10.3 with a fresh install of FCPX with no FCP7. Originally on snow leopard I had installed FCPX alongside FCP7 and thought that might be why. But obviously not.

I wonder. Is there anyone here in the forum that has it displayed correctly?

Yeah I've got the same issue. Funnily I was watching the Ripple training guys and their version had it too!

Just to muddy the waters a bit more check out this screen grab of the FCPX help doc, it's apparently saying that an update of the OS is required;)

Interesting? It's just such an odd bug. Apple is usually so committed to fit and finish. Especially after 3 updates.

Did notice that one of the folders I have greyed is Apple Loops for Soundtrack Pro. That content hasn't been on my system drive for a few months, I moved it onto a separate media drive. However, at some point pre christmas it was available in my FCPX database.

My Soundtrack Pro folder was greyed out originally but then I moved the soundtrack files from an installation of FCPS on another mac to the appropriate place and they were listed correctly. That's what got me thinking.

I'm guessing the additional content downloads to a different location then FCPX expects. If we can figure out were the media browse expects it to be, we can move it there and everything should display correctly :).
