ADVANCED MULTICAM QUESTION

I have 2 hard drives with the exact same media on them, with a computer running off each hard drive. That way 2 editors can work on the same movie at the same time, by dividing the movie into smaller "projects". Then once a section is done we copy it over to the master project, modify event references and away we go. It has worked every time.... Until Multicam.

Now when we swap over project the files are not recognised, even though we have all the same media on the same drive.

So here's some questions:

Do Multicam clips get saved onto the hard drive??? If so where??

Is it possible to "collapse" a multi clip so it no longer has multi clip properties?

Where would FCPX be looking for the multi clip files?
