Over/Undercranked footage in FCPX was created by dgwvideo
This past weekend I shot some footage with my HVX200A. Recording format was 720/24PN but I changed the frame rate to 60fps for some slo motion stuff and then also shot some 2FPS action. Offloaded to an external drive with P2CMS and then tried to import into FCPX by opening a camera archive (just as I always do without problems).
Here's the issue: I select my overcranked (or undercranked) footage as it displays in the import window and select import. It appears in the event browser with the loading circle nearly full but will never complete importing. If I check the background tasks they are sitting at 0 and suggest they are importing. These are only 17 sec and 40 sec clips. Also nothing else from that P2 Contents folder (footage that was shot at normal 24PN frame rate) will load. I check other folders and all is good, but other folders that contain any over/undercranked footage won't import.
Any ideas? Tried trashing prefs. No other projects open. No other events. Selected copy to events folder and import optimized. Tried that both ways. Does FCPX have an issue with non standard frame rates?

OK, I have an update to this. Tried importing again my under cranked footage and almost same result. Tried this with many archived P2 Contents that had over-under footage on them. If I select a standard clip first, everything is fine. The minute I choose something that does not conform to the default record rate (i.e. record 720 24PN at the default 24fps - life is good) and choose something recorded at 720 24PN with frame rate set 2FPS - then complete lockup.
So, I can choose standard clips even if the P2 contents contains over-under clips, BUT cannot choose one of those non-standard. I reset and re-confirmed this about 5 or 6 times.
I conclude FCPX can't handle that at this time.....but if anyone knows different please let me know.
EXTRA INFO: I can open my over-under footage in QT7 and immediately save and export to 720 P and then I can import that as a file in FCPX with no trouble. Plays back at the 2fps rate fine (or 60fps in the case of over cranking).
Comments appreciated!
