Where has text field gone from Title inspector? was created by randallp
10.0.3 - after entering text into a title, I always used to see the text in the Text tab of the inspector - now it seems to have disappeared!
The inspector text page seems to start with font. What have I done?

Depends on the title you're using. Some have them some don't. Basic text does, gradient edge doesn't.

There is a consistency with this and it makes sense.
Titles created with a single text layer show the text input box as default. Titles created with more than 1 text layer don't.
If a title shows Line 1, Line 2 sizes etc. in the "Title" tab, then it won't show the input box in the "Text" tab. If you select the relevant line of text in the viewer the input box appears, if you change the selection the input box changes.
I'm not sure yet, but I think I'd prefer if it showed separate input boxes for each layer.

Now I'm sure, I'm finding this really frustrating.
I thought before that the trim tools were FCPX's weak point, but maybe just it's most important weakness, but adjusting text outlines/shadows etc. where more than 1 text input field is necessary is a nightmare, that and the disastrous keyframe editor, specifically when transitions and keyframes are combined.
On that note, and I'm sure from a developers point of view they're all related, "ctrl-d" on a clip with transitions compared to without, we have a long way to go.
Anyone else finding this?
