proxy clips, pictures

proxy clips, pictures was created by parkerhqj
I have a project where I created proxy media. When I import pictures, they need to be in the original media mode. For some reason, there a few segments of my edit where it tells me I have missing media when I switch to use original media. When I go to relink them, it tells me the clip I've chosen is wrong - when it isn't. Not sure why these clips are missing in the first place. How do I make my proxy media no longer proxy?

Pictures? Do you mean video or stills?
When you created proxy media during the Import process, did you copy the original media into the Events folder also, and/or make Optimized media?
Where is your original and/or optimized media?
How are you switching between the two?

Sorry - stills.
It's been a while since I imported the footage (it was my first project on fcpx and I'm just returning too it)- and I've also copied the events to it's present drive from another one, so I'm not totally certain how I started. In the events folder, I have the original media. I also have the proxy media. When I try to reconnect the media, it indicates where it is, but when I try to connect it, it says the audio and video don't match.
This was a two camera shoot and I have compound clips with synced clips, so that may be adding too the confusion. If I could somehow get the stills to be proxy files, then I'd be set - a weird workaround to say the least and probably impossible.
I'll work at it again in the morning and see what I can come up with. Thanks.

FCP X converts all stills to PNG if they are not already that format. There is no relinking to the originals, as there is no point to it. Video does not have the quality of photography, so there's no need to re-link back to a RAW file. The converted PNG is as good a quality as you can ever expect in video.

I didn't explain that clearly. I have no interest in converting my stills to proxy anything. It's just that when I am in the proxy media mode, the stills are listed as missing. When I switch to original media, the stills are available, but the footage has missing media. Sort of a Catch 22. How can I import my stills so they can work in a project that is using proxy media?
Never mind - I simply converted all the stills in my browser to proxy media. I didn't realize I could even do that. Problem solved. Thanks.
