Importing .srt file but not all subtitles appear?

SUBTITLE SRT FILE QUESTION:
I'm importing a .srt file to a video timeline but it's only showing the subtitle for the first 30 seconds of the video. I can view the .srt file outside of FCPX and can confirm that the subtitles have been created for the entire length of the video, but for some odd reason only the first 30 seconds show up. Any idea why this might be?

I've generated .srt files a few different ways, usually with SimonSays or MacWhisper - never had an issue.

How was your file generated initially?

FCP is very picky about SRT's. If there is an error in the file it won't import. Note the last subtitle which imported, open the SRT with text edit. Find the last imported subtitle and there will be something wrong with the next one. Either overlapping timecode or too many lines, or an empty subtitle. Fix it in text edit and import again. Repeat until you've found all errors. Don't delete empty subtitles, just write a filler text (XXXXXX)
