Missing Audio Filter

The Brightness Audio Filter in Final Cut Pro no longer appears under Voice in the Audio Effects category. Any suggestions as to why? The only way I can access it is to copy the Brightness Audio Filter from a previous project and paste it into a new project.

If you're using 10.6.6, Apple simplified many of the audio effects and apparently even removed some all to retain compatibility with the iPad version of Final Cut Pro that very few people care about.
What you can do, though, is go to a previous project where it's been applied and then choose SAVE EFFECTS PRESET near the lower right. Name it BRIGHTNESS or whatever you'd like and now you have it available to you at a whim in any project going forward.
