Change aspect from 4:3 to 5:4? was created by danielscherl
Hello!
I recently digitized some old SVHS tapes, and the Vidbox capture card I used injected them at the wrong aspect ratio. Back in the day, you used to be able to open Quicktime 7 pro, change the aspect ratio easily, and save it correctly. I can't find a way to do this easily.
Is there a way to simply change these clips from 4:3 to 5:4 so people don't look squished and fat?
I have a Mac with the latest FCP X and Compressor. Happy to use another utility if needed.
Thank you!
Daniel

Compressor has a Pixel aspect ratio setting in the Video inspector tab. It seems to be constrained by the Frame size setting... Can't be sure it will help you fix your issue...
Of course, you'd probably need to transcode at least the video...
