Audio Plugin's M1 Macs

I have been using the iZotope RX standalone version of for various things on an old Mac and still works great however I'm working on an M1 Mac now so a bit hesitate to go all in on iZotope again and use a standalone app I would rather use something inside of FCPX. I have recently tried RX Elements 10 as plugins and they really don't work well at all lots of crashes and spinning beachballs...they are really unusable. I know they aren't 'high end' as previously mentioned but didn't want to spend more on plugins that don't work.
Recommendations welcome especially if they have a trail version.

Izotope RX does many things from de-noising to basic EQ.
Also remember that when you process audio files outside FCP, the files usually get automatically updated inside FCP. I usually work with copies of the original audio and fix the files outside. Unless I need simple processing like EQ, Compression, de-essing etc.
I personally love and use fabfilter plugins > www.fabfilter.com/products#mixing-and-mastering

With an M1 would would think that audio plugins would work seamlessly but as mentioned the RX 10 elements really struggles inside FCPX
I'll have a look at the fabs

I have a number of plug-ins that work fine in every app, except FCP. Just because a plug-in works in Logic Pro for instance, isn't a given that it will work equally well in FCP. Some work fine, some not at all, and others have either performance issues or issues in the way their interface is displayed. Plug-ins with skeuomorphic skins tend to be iffy. Same with calling up the presets on some.
I use iZotope plug-ins and they do work, however, they appear to be a big drain on the sequence, especially Ozone. As far as noise processing, I would recommend using the standalone RX app. Also, right now, the built-in noise reduction/voice enhancement tool in Resolve is about the best sounding option today. You could use either to pre-process your audio files and bring those back into FCP for the rest of the edit.
Plug-in developers have been slow to update for native M1 support. I think most are on board now, but you'll need to check the fine print first. If there is a trial version, test that first, before buying.

However, if you have izotope, I would use that. It is in my opinion still the best out there.
I personally never use izotope inside FCP, I rather clean the VO or dialog before hand. There is so much you can to do to a voice that add AUs in FCP seems a bit of a waste of resources that could be use for the video. I would do that if I export the audio from FCP into Logic.

I have got RX4 standalone but is on an old Intel laptop and now because I'm on an M1 Mac I didn't really want to be buying the full standalone version for the M1.
I was 'hoping' that RX 10 Elements would actually work like butter inside FCPX to not only save time workflow wise but also say some money. I would assume the standalone version on an M1 would work perfectly well I'm really surprised the actual plugin doesn't work at all inside FCPX which is disappointing.

I know whats on the market I know all the usual suspects I used produce music years ago so was just wanting to get back up to date with what is actually working inside FCPX these days.

As I said, for me cleaning dialog before editing is quicker than wasting time in FCP where I can actually focus on editing.

Yes, I've used it. It is quite good. However, I've only run it on Intel machines so far.I've seen a news story here mentioning these klevgrand.com/products/brusfri have you tried this?

But to have a plugin denoiseing the audio in realtime shouldn't really be a problem with an M1 Mac. If I can play 4K RED footage without a problem I should be able to use an audio denoiser of reverb remover without any lag on the system.
And as I mentioned I have already got a full standalone version of RX which works perfectly well on a 10 year old Intel Mac but I want to be able to do this inside FCPX.

Got a full refund from iZotope without any problems which was a result and I will be buying the RX standalone app in the near future because it really is a good product. I was told that there will be big discounts in the coming weeks so if anyone is looking to pull the trigger wait a few weeks to get a really good deal.
