FCP not deleting original & proxy files when i delete library

Hi, wondering if any expert out there can help as i can't seem to find a similar thread anywhere else. FCP is no longer automatically deleting the files associated with a library when i delete the library. (I think) It used to automatically delate the files saved under 'final curt original media' and 'final cut proxy media' when i deleted a library - i say 'I think' because i never used to even look in these folders, but recently noticed my hard-drive was more full than it should be. Found that i had files going back several months in there for projects/libraries that i had long deleted, clogging up my storage space. . Have i unclicked/deselected some setting unknowingly? It depends where the media is stored. If it's stored inside the library bundle, in the folders that are inside the four star purple icon, then deleting the library will delete the media. If the media is stored in an external location, either left in place when imported, or in an external folder location assigned in the library, the media will never be deleted when the library is deleted. Any external media has to be deleted manually.
