Good evening everyone,

I have only just taken the plunge and upgraded from my iMac to Mac Studio.  I did a migration from my iMac to the Mac Studio.  Everything seems to work......but today when I tried to open a library it gave me the message that I needed permission to write.  Now I am not sure what to do or how to rectify it.  When I switched computers it opened fine on my old MacBook Pro.  Any help is much appreciated.  Thanks in advance.  Dawn

In System Preferences...->Security & Privacy->Privacy, select Full Disk Access and make sure that FCP is in the list.

This is on Monterey and the above location might be slightly different in Ventura.

If it's a particularly stubborn library (or any file for that matter)... Select file > Get Info > Sharing & Permissions > Change Privilege.

Also there's an option to "Ignore ownership on this volume" that may need correcting if you hook up an external drive. This also expands upon what I mentioned above.

Thanks for your response.  I will keep your reply in case I find another 'hitch' that I can use this for.
