FCPX Issues

Hello All,

Im new to this. FCPX giving me a problem

Footage is on external ssd hard drive. 
Made a library on the ssd
Imported a few files of footage from the hard drive. Leaving files in place.
Not created a project time line yet. Transcoding finished etc. 
When playing abit of the footage after a second i get this.



My macbook is new. Hardly used it. Hard drive and ssd has space. What can it be?? Someone please help...

Knowing the codec of the footage and frame rate will help to troubleshoot your problem. Even though you have a new MacBook, knowing the exact specs of that, RAM, GPU, Mac OS will also help.

These are my mac specs



I am using fcpx 10.6.5

Codecs - avc1
1080p

Ok ive spent a few hours messing around with fcpx. Deleted everything and started from scratch. It looks like if i speed up the footage i have no more playback errors. I used 'automatic speed' just above the time line.

The clips says 'fast 250%' above the clip for the few clips i dragged in. Im quite confused. The footage is drone footage. Can anyone shed some light please...

What’s the frame rate of the project and what’s the frame rate of the media? Can you give the complete specs of the drone footage?

Drone footage:
Frame rate of media is 23.98
Video format - H.264

Plays fine in Quicktime player

Project ive tried 1080p hd and 4k same issue. 

Anything else you need from me?

Btw i did speed up the speed but same issue again.

My edit was going fine until i moved stuff to my external drive due to space issues. Since sorting space and moving stuff to external hd all ive had is problems. Now im even getting same problem if i save locally on the macbook drive...

What’s the frame resolution of the footage? What’s the project frame rate?

Does the video played from the system SSD play badly in the browser?
