Transcoded Media? Files take too much space

Hello,

I'm working on a larger project right now, and just saw that my 1tb hard drive is full. Both the FCPX project / library and the media stored in folders are on the hard drive. I have already linked all the videos in my library to the media in the folders. However, a large portion of the disk space still comes from the FCPX project/library. Looking at the package contents of the project, all the files in "Original Media" have links, but there are some very large files in the folder "Transcoded Media / High Quality Media". Also here you can find some links but some files of sometimes 235gb are just lying there.

Can someone help me to set links for these files as well? When I set links in FCPX, nothing changes. Or do can i even delete these files? Do I even need them if I have the original files stored in my folders?

Many greetings,
Niko

Select the library and use File>Delete Generated Library Files. In preferences switch off background rendering. Switch off create optimized for multicam. Do not transcode media unless you have to. If your system is having problems with playback, create proxy files.
