RELINK FILES NOT WORKING

Hi Everyone. I'm having trouble with relinking files for my FCP project. files are there when I set it to proxy but with original media playback - it says it's missing. I made a copy of the original media to another but it doesn't work. I also don't have the option to import it from the SD card because I already deleted it. please help

I've always found the 'relink files' method iffy at best when I can see the very files it refuses to recognize. My approach is to drag all the 'missing' files into the timeline at which time they magically get recognized.

Quit FC to establish current state project. Relaunch. DRAG, don't import, into the timeline. The missing warnings should self correct. UNDO to get back to the initial state & clear out the added files mess. Quit FC. Reopen and see if it takes.
