HDR capable desktop LCD monitor and FCPX was created by zzchu

Does an HDR capable desktop LCD monitor allow the user to get a better idea of how HDR-Dolby Vision footage actually look in the viewer of Final Cut Pro?
I know there are options to connect an expensive reference monitor ---but, as enthusiast messing with footage from an iPhone, I wonder if it is as simple as just getting a 27" 4K monitor with HDR capability?

Thanks for any information!
