Missing Audio Enhancements FCPX 10.6.4 13 Sep 2022 17:28 #122150

Sooo...none of the recent audio enhancement additions like voice isolation, et. al. appear n the inspector window. Every tutorial I've seen shows these elements automatically appearing in that window. But not for me. Any thoughts on this? Is this like a major bug or what? By the by, I have already shut down/restarted and that did not work.

What OS are you using? Minimum is 12.3.

Another thing to look at is the audio configuration of the clip itself. If it's a multi-channel clip, you won't see those features by default, and you'll need to simplify one way or another (there are a few things you can do).

Also the inspector audio enhancements pane might default to "hide". If you hover your mouse over the audio enhancements line in the inspector, you'll see "show" appear. Do that while a valid clip is selected in the event browser or timeline.

After updating the OS to 12.6 the audio inspector is now showing equalization and voice isolation but nothing else.

(I'm aware of the show vs. hide function and that is not the issue.)

I'm wondering now where the rest of the items are, like hum remover, et. al. I do not know how to configure or what is to be configured.

Thnx for replies.

So you don't see anything like the attached screen cap?

Do you see Audio Analysis? Do you see its Hide/Show button? Post a screenshot of what you have in the Audio inspector, including what's in Audio Configuration.

Tom, you were correct, they were hiding under the audio analysis tab's "show" function. One day someone will coin a term for that simultaneous feeling of stupidity and gratitude.

Thanks for your help and to everyone who posted on this thread.

Of course one resolved issue begets yet another issue: these audio functions only seem to work when the clip is set to stereo but then disappear when the clip is set to dual mono. Then, toggling back to stereo I find the effects do not remain. Is this meant to work this way? Is there a workaround this in order to have sound in both channels?

And just to follow up for anyone who found this thread helpful: You need to toggle the clip to dual mono, then expand the audio clip to show both channels, and THEN apply the effect to each channel.

Huge pain, so if anyone has a better solution give a shout.
