Wipes with odd shapes 03 Aug 2022 17:25 #121690
I'm trying to replicate some old 1960s style film wipes. Most of them I can do easily with "Draw Mask", but some have strange shapes. Any help would be appreciated. I've uploaded a short sample to my google drive:
drive.google.com/file/d/1IGTAIFMW3E4K2iT...7vl/view?usp=sharing The first is a sort of spiral The second is made up of numerous dots I'd like to re-create these as closely as is possible. |

sounds to me like a "create customized wipes in Motion" task
for a start have a e.g. look here… and, for sure, the Manual describes all about custom wipes, behaviors, masks, keyframes etc support.apple.com/guide/motion/welcome/mac feel free to download other board members`projects for inspiration fcp.co/forum/transitions |

If you are good at image editing, you could also try a gradient image wipe. Make a grey scale image where white is the first part to dissolve/wipe and black is the last, and drop it into the drop zone of a gradient image transition. You can do all sorts of cool wipes with gradients, and they are fun to make. If you google gradient wipe images, you can see some good examples.
