Duplicate keywords collections (can't remove)

I've got an issue with duplicate keyword collections. Basically, I've got keywords that appear twice in my event. One in a folder and one in the event. They both contain the same thing. If I rename one, the other is also renamed.

How do I remove these duplicates?

How I got to this point:

I created a template project with common folders and keywords I use. I then bring in media from Kyno, which includes tags that match the tags in my project. When I do this, Kyno creates a new event. I then merge this new event with the one in my template by dragging one event onto the other. When I merge these events is when I get these duplicates.

Okay, I feel dumb. Just right-click and delete the duplicate.

I assumed that if I deleted one, the other would as well. Not the case.
