So I got the whole "record VoiceOver" thing figured out just fine. I have a Samson Dynamic usb mic that is plugged into the computer. I also understand how to record video directly into FCPX using the media import button, and selecting the internal webcam in the computer.

The question is, how do I tell FCPX that I want to use the dynamic mic for my audio, just as in the VoiceOver? If I select the webcam for the source, it uses the internal Macs (M1 Mac) microphone.

Thoughts?

I believe what you should really do is to use QuickTime Player. Choose File -> New Movie Recording. Once you're done, you can save and import the file into FCP...
