I have attached a screen shot here. I don't know what the red rectangle is, nor how to get rid of it. (It does not appear in my projects)
Do any of you happen to know what I did to create this - and how I can get rid of it? Many thanks!

That indicates you’re zoomed into the Viewer. It also allows you to move around the image if the Viewer is scaled up a lot. Set the view popup to Fit or click in the Viewer and use Shift-Z.
