H.264 Faster Encode or Better Quality. Faster exporting, or faster processing?

So I recently uploaded a 4K 5-minute 30fps file to Youtube and it took 6 hours for Youtube to process it. I selected H.264 Better Quality. My question is, if next time I choose Faster Encode, does that just mean I can export the file to my desktop faster, or does it mean YouTube will process it faster after I've uploaded it to my channel. Thanks for any help.

The general consensus is that there is no real difference visually between faster and better for most projects. It doesn't matter which you use as far as YouTube processing is concerned. They do it whenever they can.

Thanks for the information Tom,
Does that mean that we should simply always use faster ?

You have to decide for your project and the media. Very complex images that are difficult to encode might benefit from Better Quality.
