Mixing footage in Multicam was created by Marc Lucas
Haven't had chance yet to try the new Multicam feature but what the deal when mixing footage types in FCPX. When mixing progressive and interlaced what are the general results like. Does FCPX process the interlaced footage if you were working on a progressive timeline. The way I would do this manually in FCP6 if I had to mix footage types I would put a 'Nattress film effect filter on the interlaced to make it look more progressive.

Depends on what you set the Multiclip timeline to be. And you can still drop a deinterlace filter on the clips that you want that on.

Yeah I get that and do sometimes use the film filter as stated. Just wonder what kind of job FCPX actually does when mixing stuff together.

I've never personally had any problems with it.

There is no de-interlace "filter" in FCP. You can set the field dominance to progressive or a clip-by-clip basis or for multiple clips.

Project Library, highlight the project, Inspector pane, wrench icon at bottom right brings up the settings for that Project.
