DropZones in 10.0.3

DropZones in 10.0.3 was created by NocoDave
I had made a nice template in Motion with "optional" drop zones, if I chose to occupy the drop zone it got occupied, if I chose not to it was like it was never there.
I thought this was a great way to treat them as optional, but now in 10.0.3 that same template shows the drop zone placeholder graphic when not occupied, making it mandatory rather than optional. In this particular template I can rig a checkbox to enable/disable the drop zone, but that's not always going to be possible or straight forward depending on what parameters have been rigged/published already.
I can't be 100% certain that this relates to the 10.0.3 update, but I think it is. I hadn't used the template in a few weeks and was checking to see that all my previous made templates still function correctly with the update when I found it.
Any chance anyone who hasn't updated yet could look and see how unoccupied drop zones are treated in 10.0.2 and if they differ when they update?
