Workflow Q: Handed project where no audio on video and separate audio

I've gotten handed a project where there is no audio on the video file and a separate audio recording.
They used a clapper so I can sync them up visually using markers and in points but it's time consuming rather than having any audio on the video and syncing it.
Specifically, I want to sync and lock them together in the event before I bring them into the Project/Timeline.
What's your workflow/method to handle this situation? Any tricks or faster methods ?

Not really, but at least you can bill them more hours as a result.

Pretty much I have to import the clips, use a marker to mark when the clapper hits and mark the audio file at the same point and select Synchronize Clips and tell it to use the first marker as the sync point and it creates a synchronized version -- that's about as easy as I can get it.

If your video files have no audio at all, and your clips don't have matching timecode (because it wasn't synced between devices for the shoot), then you're looking at a lengthy manual process.
Usually there's at least some garbage system audio from the camera's built-in mic that could work, but it doesn't sound like you've got even that.

Nope. Not a spec of audio on the video file - They shot like a film with external recording.
Yeah, that's the fastest I can come up with but it's better than trying to sync them up in the timeline. This way I can sync them and then make my selections and do my assembly.
