On a project with 14 captions and one Title - my captions are NOT appearing when converted & sent up to YouTube. The captions play back fine in FCP.

I've checked Timeline Index - Captions. Export options are set to English (ITT) and I have tried Burn in captions both ways (none or burn in).

What am I missing guys? Thanks for any help.

To add captions is an extra step in case you are using ITT or SRT. Export as side car file and add them in YouTube.
You also can convert the ITT track to CEA - in this case the captions can be embedded on exports.
Finally you can burn in the captions as open captions.

Andreas - thank you for the valuable feedback. However, I did not see the SRT option that Iain Anderson mentioned in his FCP Efficient Editing book on page 663? Is that still a viable option?
My project was able to have the brief captions. Below is my unpublished YouTube link.
