New to FCP using version 10.6.1 - want to create blank or background pages, that I can type textual descriptions (radar reanalysis and meteorological descriptions). I haven't yet found a way to import text from Word or other text editors.

Thanks for any help.

You can use any graphic, solid, background or even gap clip as your blank page to type text onto. Select any title in the Titles browser and in the video inspector for the title text you can type your own text or paste any amount of text that you copied from any application or document. For example, open Word - highlight the text you want and copy it, then in FCP go the the video inspector and in the text area paste the copied text. If any of this is unclear you should look at a few basic tutorials on the UI and features of FCP.

Thanks for your detailed answer. I have been going through several tutorials and bought the Final Cut Pro Efficient editing book by Iain Anderson.

@dgwvideo I sure appreciate it!
