How to start each new event with same elements I use in every event (template?) was created by nielsfeijen
Hi,
Hope you are all well. I run a youtube channel and for each new event I use the same stuff(subscribe buttons, intro, advertisement pics etc etc)
How can I open up a fresh event each time with these elements already in place? So I don't have to copy and paste 20 items for each new video. In Logic Pro you can make a template so you have the same starting things in place each new song you make.
Probably simple, but can't find it anywhere...
Thanks for your help

I’m not sure whether you mean Project or Event here. There is no template facility as such but I would make a new Event called Masters and make a project in it. Build the project as you would like your template and call it xxx - Master. Now make a Snapshot of that project whenever you need a new one, drag it to the event of choice and rename it. It is also possible to use Compound Clips as template elements.

Compound clip. Yes. But there was something that tripped me up that changing the compound clip would also alter all other uses of the same clip throughout the project unless you do what Larry Jordan mentioned long, long ago:

UPDATE – Jan. 9, 2012. I just did a quick check. If you create a compound clip in the Event Browser, then edit that compound clip into multiple projects – or multiple locations within a single project – if you change the compound clip in the Timeline it does not affect the master compound clip in the Event Browser, nor any other occurrence of that compound clip in any project. This makes it easy to create a show open that you can modify each week for each show, without affecting previous projects.
UPDATE – Aug. 2013. This behavior changed with the 10.0.6 FCP X update. Now, if you modify a compound clip in the Timeline, it modifies all occurrences of that compound clip in the Project. The way to change one compound clip without changing all the others is to select the clip in the Timeline, and choose Clip > Reference New Parent Clip. This duplicates the clip in the Event Browser. Rename and use the new duplicate clip. You can make as many changes to the duplicate clip as you want, without having those changes ripple back into the original clip.

That last paragraph should pretty much sums things up as far as making a master template CC wise for the new video.
