We will be purchasing two 24" M1 iMac's and a M1 Mini in April. They will have 16GB of unified memory and a 1TB drive. Other than the number of ports and the obvious lack of a display on the Mini, are there any significant performance differences? The will all be running FCPX and using Creative Cloud applications.
Source material will be a combination of 4K and HD. Deliverables will by HD. It's not uncommon to have three to four 4K streams running at once. Working in Proxy is fine as needed. The media drive will be an 8TB OWC Thunderbay with four SSD's in a RAID 0 configuration, backed up to an OWC Mercury Quad with 42TB at RAID 5
The current machines are 2012 era MacPro's that, at the time, were configured to the max as far as Processors and RAM.
