How to have Mark In effect secondary storyline? was created by daveditor
Hi - I'm new to FCPX (been using the other NLEs for about 20 years now). Forgive me if this has been covered before...
Let's say I have a clip or Storyline above the main Storyline. I'd like to be able to do a Mark In / Mark Out, then hit either Delete or Del and have it effect both "tracks" (I know they're not called tracks in FCPX), so that either the segment between the In and Out disappears and the entire timeline shortens (including the top "track") or there is a hole made between In and Out (including the top "track").
From what I can see, this isn't possible. When you do the In and Out, it's only on the main Storyline, and the Delete (or Del) effects just that "track" and not the one above. The only way I see to do this is the very cumbersome selecting of all "tracks" with the mouse, then doing an Add Edit, then selecting all tracks again and doing another Add Edit, then doing the delete (or del). Considering the ease of just hitting In, Out then Delete in, say, Premiere, this seems ridiculously time consuming.
Am I missing something?
