LoupeDeck CT

Does anyone use the LoupeDeck CT in their workflow? I tried one for about 3 months and just doesn't work for me. Guess I'll sell it. 

Hi Mmlips. If this can help you... my best FCP control surfaces:
* humble Shuttle express
* keyboard cover ( www.kbcovers.com ) for FCP
* Metaserver App for iPad ( www.metasystem.io )
No problems, work efficiently and much cheaper than Loupdeck

What control surface "padtype do we need ? (could be an app on iOS) :

- A bunch of virtual "surface buttons " that we could customize 100% .
- A way to freely import the "Icon" for each one.
- Each touch emulate a keyboard stroke or combination of keyboard stroke or a Macro, (Several keyboard strokes)
- Totally app agnostic ! No specific app even mentioned by the developer , (except for links to icon templates to be customized)

does Metapad work like this ? (unclear on their site)

FcpX is not even mentioned,
the "import button" seems to be stucked to some hassle type process on Dropbox.
Can I an import freely any Png I want and affect it to a button ?

Metasystem works fine in the iPad. You need install Metaserver (from website) on Mac and Metagrid app for iOS from AppStore. This application was initially aimed for DAW's as like as a MIDI control device but the latest versions you can use it without need using MIDI just emulating keyboard shortcuts,  macros. When you download Metaserver several presets for DAW (and also for FCP) are included, but you can create your own keyboard shortcuts as you like (I also have a full Motion shortcuts). If you have two applications open on your Mac and you switch from one to another,  the iPad also change at the same time (it's great!)

My Magic Trackpad and keyboard work just fine, and very fast.

I've got the Loupedeck Live and am really enjoying it. Combined with my Magic Trackpad (that was a game changer for me) and keyboard... it works well.

I have shortcut a few things that only save a few clicks here and there and it has been great. Being able to program one button to do multiple actions and clicks or macros has been pretty phenomenal. Most of my favourite things are changing the workspace quickly, based on what I am doing, hiding inspector, brower, toggling between inspector tabs, increasing size of wavelength or clip height... all stuff you can do with shortcuts and mouse movements and clicks but it feels more productive.
Anything that can save my mouse hand moving around is great for fatigue and RSI prevention. My wrists have been thankful.

they do their own (ugly) icons... that is a problem

You can share Metagrid viewsets with other users. Check this link from metasystem site:

This views is a basic template but can help you to add more keyshortcuts 
About icons... I don't know what you are looking for but latest version has hundreds of them ☺️
