Some Waveform Bug Workarounds was created by cole

FCP 10.6/10.6.1 undoubtedly have some serious issues with waveforms. I've been having them a lot lately and it's EXTREMELY annoying. So for the last week or so I've been testing and writing down some changed settings/editing methods that have helped me with varying success. They probably won't work for everyone but I thought I'd share regardless.

- DO NOT BLADE WHILE PLAYING (if the issue is not present, using the blade tool while the clip is actively playing seems to initiate it)
- turn off "Show Reference Waveforms" in Preferences > Editing
- re-encode audio in a different format (I was using WAV and AIFF gave me slightly more reliable waveforms)
- if you're working with a compound clip/synced clip etc., click into it and scroll through to render the waveforms INSIDE first, then go back to the timeline
- make a new project and copy the timeline over to it (projects created before 10.6 seem to cause some issues)
- clear the render cache, quit FCP, and re-render
- reinstall FCP and ditch plugins (not possible for some I know, me included so hopefully the above make a difference)

Hope one or more of these might help you guys in case we still don't see a fix for the next few months (love it!), and I'll keep updating this post if I find more.
