Matching Pantone colors in FCP is it possible?

Hello group,
I am struggling with a small corporate project, where I am not able to match a pantone color. I am trying to use two pantone colors and it's rather simple one use is a color fill made in photoshop but using the pantone color codes and importing I cannot tell if FCP is changing the color to match the Rec 709 or if the color space is not large enough or is it my monitor.

The second use is a lower third where I am filling in the color and once again the Hex code matches but compared to the PDF with color specs the agency sent their colors are not matching their own pantone numbers but on this side I am suspecting their pdf has something to do with it.

I am 100% confused and not sure which way to go currently I am making 3 versions with color that A. matches my digital color meter to their colors. B. matching their provided Hex Code numbers C. matching their provided RGB numbers which vary a bit from the B. Hex Code.

If anyone can help me out I would really appreciate the help!
Thank you, David

FCP is using RGB internally. But you're exporting to REC709 and not much you can do about that. But no one should notice any drastic differences. And each app uses a different gamma, so don't expect them all to visually match on your screen. That's probably not much help.

And your new found solution is........ a secret?
(Rhetorical question so future readers can get right back to their edit when having a similar issue without having to go door to door & wasting effort seeking a solution when yours might fit the bill directly.)
