Will switching to a RAID 0 help me much with editing a big project?

I’m working on a film. Right now, there’s about 15 TB of data spread out over two different10 tb drives. I’m currently editing it on a late 2016 MBP using two standalone drives that are in an OWC drive dock (this one to be specific:  tinyurl.com/h95perjx ). I am wondering if it would be quicker if I went to RAID 0?I’m not doing too much in the way of graphics or effects with this material. Right now, the two drives is fine speed wise, but if RAID 0 was going to make a real discirnible difference than I’d consider it since I’ll be working on this for another 4-5 months. Thanks!

I have a 2017 macbook pro and I think you're in for some pain... That said, I have had success using the blade style SSD drives that output about 700-900mb/s real world via usb-c TB3 I had a raid on TB2 and got about 200mb/s If you go my route I used 2tb drives but 4 would be better if you have the money. I would split the job up to 10-15min sections and put the footage on the 2-4tb ssd finish output the clip then add that to the next segment so you can go back and see if what you're doing would work for the previous 10-15 min. At the end or whatever you can use the big drives and let it run for 1-5 days to put it all together and export.

I don't know if you can RAID drives in a utility dock like that, but even if you could, just get SSD, RAID 0 won't be worth the effort.
First, you'd have to backup all that data, because creating a single RAID 0 of your two drives wipes them clean.
And if you remove one drive from that dock afterwards, your RAID is blown, neither dive will do you any good, you can't separate RAID'ed drives like that.
Plus, one drive dies in RAID 0, you lose everything.

If you need improvement, get a 20TB pre-built RAID, don't go this sort of cheap route, it'd not be stable.

And have backups for your data, no matter what!
