Text overlay/zoom motion

I'm trying to re-create an old movie trailer and I need to match the speed of the text zoom precisely. However, I see no way to adjust the points to linear - if this is indeed what is needed. It's basically a plain .png text file over the picture which zooms from 60% to 200%. I can't seem to get it to match the speed/flow of the original trailer. I tried ken burns but that gave me a headache too.
