I need a little help...... I just received my iPhone 13 Pro Max and am trying to figure out how to maintain metadata for both video and photos for editing in FCPX on my MacBook Pro. I never worked with iPhone video or photos therefore, I want to make sure I maintain all the information needed for color grading, sharpening, etc. I also, want to import them into folders first, not directly from iPhone to FCPX and/or Lightroom. I want to do so by using a cable connection due to large ProRes files from the Pro Max 13. Are ย there DCIM folders when it comes to iPhones? If you could point me in the right direction on how to accomplish this, I would sincerely appreciate it. Thank You. Ray

If you're not doing that fancy Cinema focus stuff, I just use AirDrop to my computer. It's not complicated. If you are doing that fancy Cinema focus stuff, try this:

Thanks for the help..... Basically, I want to import iPhone video & photo's into some folders keeping them intact for FCPX editing. It doesn't appear that they are contained in DCIM folders like my camera equipment. I want to make sure they are fully editable. Thanks again. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š

Oh no, the photos and videos are all stand-alone files. Their metadata is inside them. Nothing like a camera's SD card at all. Just import, you have it all, nothing else to do or bother with.

if you insist on using a cable you can also use the Image Capture app to import the files from your phone..
