How long does it take for the Sound Effects window to populate? was created by jamespeach
For me it's around 10 seconds. Last year I added a few hundred custom sound effects in the folder and I expect that's making it even longer but it's always been very long. Is this normal? 

Before you ask I'm on an M1 MacBook Air but it's been like this through every laptop I've had.

Yeah, Apple apps are odd in that they take a long time reading each others libraries, and often not very well.
