I have a weird bug. Every time I use q,w or e the time line jumps 10 hours further. FCP makes the edit, but I get a blank timeline with with 10:08:00 as timecode. My timeline starts at 0:00:00. If I press the spacebar twice, I am back at the edit.

I deleted the preferences, but that didn't help. I use an iMacPro with the latest Catalina and FCP 10.5.4

That is odd. I'd try two things right off the top of my head. First, hold Opt and Cmd together while launching FCP to delete preferences. Second, in System Preferences, go to Keyboard, to Shortcuts, click "Restore To Defaults".
