Re-Examining Audio Plugins

Hi!

New to the forum.  I'm sure I'll learn a lot here but for the moment I have one question; how do you have FCP re-examine the audio plugins.  It's 'rejecting' a few of my plugins by two well established audio companies (Slate Digital and Universal Audio)...which oddly enough some of the plugins from each of these companies were authorized by FCP.

Thanks for any suggestion.

In FCP, go to preferences and then in the General tab, under audio click the button that says "validate audio units on next launch". Then close FCP and relaunch it and FCP will check all of your installed audio units. Depending on what version of FCP and OS you are on it's possible some of your plugins are not updated for those specific versions, even if they are from reputable developers.

Dang I'll be honest I'm surprised I over looked that - it's so obvious! Thanks for that, appreciate it.

While that may fix your plug-in issues, note that many third-party audio plug-ins are not compatible with M1 Macs yet (you didn't mention which Mac you had). I've also had a mix of performance issues with some third-party plug-ins in FCP (on Intel Macs). These are plug-ins that work fine in Logic and the Adobe apps. But I hope validation is the solution you need.

Thanks Oliver.  Sadly it didn't help but it's ok I have a solid work around since I am an audio guy re-learning video.
